Audio Visualizer
Listen with classic vinyl, connect to Apple Music, or bring your own audio into My Files.
Otokei supports English and French. In Settings, tap Language / Langue to open the app’s system settings and choose its language.
Imported music and the Artist experience
The paid four-chapter Artist experience is available for Apple Music catalog artists. It is not available for music imported through My Files, even after purchasing Full App Unlock.
That experience uses Apple Music’s artist information, top songs, albums and singles. Imported files can still be browsed by Songs, Albums and Artists using the information stored in your files. They do not create an Apple Music catalog artist page, a catalog top-songs list or a singles discography.
If you open Artist while playing an imported file, the app offers a route back to that artist’s music in My Files. Artist names or missing album information in your files may affect how your local collection is grouped.
Browsing artists in the Apple Music catalog
Without Full App Unlock, open an artist from an Apple Music catalog search to browse albums and singles together in a two-column grid. Tap Play Top Tracks to start the artist’s top tracks. This free view does not include a separate top-songs list or the four-chapter Artist presentation. Artist album views opened from your library retain their existing flow.
Full App Unlock adds the four-chapter Artist presentation, with sleeve artwork, animations and crate interaction. In the free catalog grid, scroll to continue loading the artist’s available albums and singles. Release availability depends on the Apple Music catalog and your account’s storefront. Apple Music playback still requires an eligible subscription and Music access permission.
How do I import my own music?
Open Collection → My Files → Add Music, then choose compatible audio files or a folder from the Files app. Files can come from On My iPhone or iPad, iCloud Drive, or another available Files provider.
The app copies selected audio into its local library. Allow files stored in the cloud to finish downloading when importing. Once imported, local playback does not require an Apple Music subscription or Full App Unlock.
Use audio that you own or are permitted to use. The app does not supply music or remove copy protection. Files protected by digital rights management may not be playable through My Files.
Why is artwork or an artist name missing?
My Files uses the metadata and embedded artwork available in the imported file. A filename alone may not include an artist, album or cover image. Check the file’s tags and embedded artwork in your music-management software, then import an updated copy if necessary.
What is free, and what requires Full App Unlock?
Free listening includes classic black vinyl with album artwork, a Bronze tonearm, Midnight or Platinum appearance, List browsing, ordinary artist album views, playback controls, queue management, shuffle, repeat and the sleep timer. Small and medium Home Screen widgets are free, including their supported playback controls.
Full App Unlock is one permanent, non-consumable purchase. It adds the released premium player designs and customisation options, including CD, additional vinyl designs, labels, tonearms, colours, photos and effects. It also adds premium collection presentations, the large Home Screen widget, premium widget appearance options and connected-display Party Mode. Wall browsing is available on iPad. The four-chapter Artist experience uses Apple Music catalog data as explained above.
There is no recurring app subscription. The purchase screen displays Apple’s current price for your storefront. Ordinary future player designs and listening features added to this app are included in Full App Unlock.
How does automatic appearance switching work?
With Full App Unlock, choose Skin to shuffle the available player appearances when a different track starts, or Full Mix to shuffle effects as well. Both work with Apple Music and music imported through My Files. Pausing and resuming, seeking or restoring the same track does not select a new appearance. Choose Off to stop automatic switching.
Which Home Screen widgets can I use?
Small and medium widgets are free. The medium widget includes previous, play/pause and next controls. The large widget and premium appearance options require Full App Unlock.
You can add a large widget before purchasing, but it displays a locked view instead of now-playing content. Tap Unlock Full App on that widget to open the upgrade screen. Adding the locked widget does not unlock it. After a refunded or revoked unlock, large-widget content is locked again; small and medium widgets remain available with the free appearance.
Do I need an Apple Music subscription?
An eligible Apple Music subscription and Music access permission are required for Apple Music playback. Apple Music is a separate service and is not included in Full App Unlock.
You can play compatible imported audio through My Files without subscribing to Apple Music. Apple Music catalog availability can vary by artist, region and service availability.
Screen Time and explicit music
Otokei is a general-purpose music player and visualizer. It does not provide parental controls or an explicit-content filter. Apple Music tracks, including tracks marked explicit, can be selected and played when available to your account.
Do not rely on Screen Time’s music content setting to prevent explicit playback within Otokei. Restrictions enforced in Apple’s Music app may not be enforced in Otokei. You are responsible for deciding whether the app and the music you select are suitable for you or anyone using your device, including children.
Personal music imported through My Files
Audio added through My Files is imported into Otokei’s local library on your device; this import does not upload it to Otokei or its developer.
Otokei does not screen imported audio for explicit content and does not provide parental-content filtering for My Files. The app has no reliable way to determine whether your personal audio contains explicit or otherwise unsuitable material. Screen Time’s music content setting should not be relied on to screen these imported files.
You are responsible for selecting appropriate files and deciding which imported music is suitable for you or anyone using your device, including children.
How do I restore Full App Unlock?
Open Settings → Unlock Full App → Restore Purchases, or use Restore Purchases on the upgrade screen. Use the Apple Account associated with the original purchase. An internet connection may be needed to verify the purchase.
If the purchase is still awaiting approval, premium access becomes available after Apple confirms it. Contact support if a completed purchase cannot be restored. Do not send your Apple Account password or payment-card details.
Purchases, refunds and consumer rights
Apple processes payment through the App Store. To request a refund, follow Apple's instructions. Eligibility depends on the circumstances and applicable rules; this page does not guarantee a refund or limit your legal rights.
Your mandatory rights, including applicable statutory guarantees and withdrawal rights where they apply, are not removed by this page or the app licence. Review the purchase and consent information in Apple's checkout before confirming a purchase.
The Apple standard licence is selected for Otokei in App Store Connect.
How do I remove imported music?
Use Delete from My Files on the song’s menu or swipe action. This removes the imported copy from the app’s library. It does not delete the separate original file you selected when importing through Add Music.
Keep a separate copy of music you want to retain. Deleting the app can remove its local library and preferences; device backups depend on your system settings.
How does Party Mode work?
Party Mode requires Full App Unlock and a connected external TV or monitor. Once connected, choose the available TV presentation through the app’s settings. Ordinary listening does not require an external display.
If Artist is the selected TV presentation, imported audio uses the Sleeve presentation instead. The saved Artist selection is retained for Apple Music catalog tracks.

Please include your iPhone or iPad model, iOS or iPadOS version, app version, and a brief description of what happened. Screenshots can help; remove anything personal before sending them. For import problems, tell us the file format and where the file came from. You do not need to send the song itself.
